From Fandom wank wiki

Big Name Fan. A well-known fan in a specific fandom, usually fanfic writers or site maintainers. Their whims are granted, their opinions are law and their iPods are unpaid-for.

But once in awhile, you get a rare BNF of good quality who isn't batshit insane.

Hint: Buy a BNF an iPod or a laptop or even a whole year off work, and you'll rise to the rank of head minion in no time. And if bribery doesn't work, try an argyle army of sockpuppets.
