The Great Breastfeeding Icon War, aka "Nipplegate"
In the beginning, hardvice had a truly artistic icon with Bea Arthur naked to the waist. This icon was judged unsuitable as a default icon due to the bare nipples. He attempted to fix the problems with pasties. LJ Abuse was unimpressed with his solution.[1] (Warning: Being a fan of art and artistic statements-- like, say, Bea Arthur naked to the waist-- hardvice has added goatse to his post.)
He submitted complaints against every default breastfeeding icon containing bare nipples that he could find.
Let it never be said that LJ Abuse is inconsistent.
But of course no one minded.

May 30, 2008: Shortly before the announcement of the winner of the election LJ Advisory Board user representative, Livejournal announced a change in policy. Breastfeeding icons were restored to the glorious and much sought-after status of "okay for default icons." (Fandom Lounge post) Shockingly, this failed to please everyone.[2]
