April 21, 2006: In a rare case of the F_W community overwhelmingly agreeing with Lee Goldberg, a blog post of his is reported which points to an Amazon listing for a novel written by the incredibly dim-witted Lori Jareo. What's so controversial about this novel? It's a Star Wars fanfic published by the author's company.
According to an interview posted on the author's site at the time, she "...wrote this book for myself. This is a self-published story and is not a commercial book. Yes, it is for sale on Amazon, but only my family, friends and acquaintances know it’s there." The sheer stupidity of this statement (among others) aside, wankas were quick to discover that not only was this fanfic available on Amazon, but also Barnesandnoble.com and Powells.com.
After the wank report was posted, it was revealed that Lucasfilm had been notified regarding this unauthorized novel; during the course of that same day, the author's site was taken down.
Then, just to make things more confusing, there was a second wank report! of the same incident.
