I have created a stub tag. It is {{stub}}. Please use it on your stubs. Thephotoman 20:43, 25 November 2005 (GMT)
- Not working anymore, darnit! --Narcissam 23:09, 25 November 2005 (GMT)
- I disabled them. If the Wankas That Be want to reinstate them, they can. Thephotoman 04:14, 26 November 2005 (GMT)
This is not the type of wiki where stubs are seen as a bad thing. I doubt we'll ever need a tag for anything more than the occasional deletion. Joke tags, of course, are always welcome. --Hinkeh 23:15, 25 November 2005 (GMT)
- Oh, ok. I just thought it was kind of weird that he made the template, stubbed almost all the articles, and then deleted the template. Would a tag like "silly", saying something like "This is a very silly article. You are encouraged to mock it" be appropriate? Not that I really care, as my real obsession is categorizing. :) --Mindset 23:48, 25 November 2005 (GMT)
- I was just being, well, wanky. I reserve that right, you know. Thephotoman 04:16, 26 November 2005 (GMT)
I have made two new tags: {{Jurisimprudence}} for Jurisimprudence laws, and {{silly}} for pages that contain mockworthy material. --Thephotoman 07:24, 29 November 2005 (GMT)
- Since image uploading is disabled, I've created an image template that mimics wiki-type image inserts. (And my extreme apologies for how long it took to figure out how templates work.) Instructions are here: Template_talk:Image, and of course nobody needs to use if they don't want to. --Mindset 23:14, 8 December 2005 (GMT)
Two new tags: {{Serious Business}} by Jim Smith, and {{spoiler}} by me. The serious one should be fairly self-evident what it's for. Spoiler is in regards to the discussion here, and hopefully it'll suit -- but added funny is always appreciated. --Mindset 17:47, 3 July 2006 (BST)
Not a tag as such, but a new css class - "sparkle". Just put <span class="sparkle"></span> around anything you want to be sparkly. :) --Mindset 18:01, 26 September 2006 (BST)
- OMFG STABBITY --Hinkeh 02:11, 27 September 2006 (BST)
- OMG ♥ ♥ ♥ --Young Murdered Faery 20:28, 28 September 2006 (BST)
New tag for fancy-looking blockquotes: {{quote}}. Instructions here: Template_talk:Quote. I think I've got it looking good, format-wise, but if anyone has any other thoughts, feel free to comment. --Mindset 03:30, 2 February 2007 (GMT)
And The Wiki hits FW Proper
143 users and 396 pages before it went on the main Fandom Wank community. Let's see how many socks people attempt to make. (note: not a bet.)
--Hinkeh 01:14, 6 December 2005 (GMT)
- I think we have a bit of a Heidipatroller, one Gigaprincess. I probably wouldn't have done the revert I did, except that her additions were, well, lame. If you feel I'm overstepping, though, please unrevert them or whatever you want to do... --Mindset 02:14, 6 December 2005 (GMT)
- Good catch. Her additions were both lame and factually inaccurate. If people have something pertinent to add to the article, they can, but weird rants about how Fandom Wank didn't exist at the time and assertions that no one used Author's Notes at the time when Cassandra Claire's original version *had* author's notes are not welcome. I'm actually not hostile to CC at all and did edit that article to add a pertinent point in her defence on the quoting TV shows thing. --Narcissam 16:35, 6 December 2005 (GMT)
- Banned her for a week, we'll see how it goes. --Hinkeh 21:08, 6 December 2005 (GMT)

Gedditoffameeeeee!
I keep getting this box that says "You have new messages", and I click on it and it takes me to my user page, and then I click something else and it's still there. I'm being stalked, yo. Lurker 32 04:00, 6 December 2005 (GMT)
- Seriously, is there a way to clear this, or is it just one of those glitches you gotta live with? Lurker 32 07:58, 28 December 2005 (GMT)
- I've no idea. I got a notification that I had a new message once, responded to it, and the notification went away. I checked your talk page, and you've responded to your message from Mindset, so I don't know what to suggest. -- Avocado 16:35, 28 December 2005 (GMT)
- Maybe if you deleted the note I left? I don't mind if you don't mind... --Mindset 16:55, 28 December 2005 (GMT)
Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!!
The wiki has been announced on Pottersues. Batten down the hatches!! -- Khym Chanur 05:15, 6 December 2005 (GMT)

Recent bans
Snacky and I have recently banned Zinkshipper and her various incarnations for persistent trolling of the wiki. She was given every opportunity to avoid banning. -- Avocado 19:04, 18 January 2006 (GMT)
I'd suggest a ban of Sammax. Why someone would make an account just to spam, I don't know, but good grief... --Mindset 04:11, 24 April 2006 (BST)
- Well, I'll keep an eye Sammax, but it looks like all s/he's done at this point is screw up formatting by removing line breaks (unless I've missed something?). I'm wondering if it was a failed attempt to alter the way the poem's laid out on the page. If we banned everyone from the wiki who'd ever screwed up formatting... -- Avocado 19:37, 24 April 2006 (BST)
- Yeah, um...just yeah. Ban. That's just bizarre trolling. ~Wankprophet
- Ah, there we go. That never succeeded in loading when I looked at the article. Go figure. Banninated. -- Avocado 20:52, 24 April 2006 (BST)
What, again? I should never doubt a spammer's capability for stupidity. --Mindset 19:30, 25 July 2006 (BST)
- Dealt with. -- Avocado 20:46, 25 July 2006 (BST)
Baninate!
Vancone has shown up on the Wiki. Have reverted several of his edits that really had nothing to do with anything, other than Harmonian aggrandizing. Or, in the words of the evil Professor Quirrel, "Troll! Troll in the dungeons! Thought you ought to know." --Thephotoman 13:28, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Dunno about banning. Much like Heidi, he does have a right to edit the articles that apply to him. (You're right about reverting the "tl;dr" thing, though. That's a WTF.) IMO, leave him be with a watch on him, and incorporate some of his edits in the wiki's usual style. Waltraute already started that with the Vanceone article, and I've added a little more.[1] ;) --Mindset 15:14, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Sigh. I totally predicted this, in fact. After all, how dare accuracy interfere with mocking, right? What I have questions about is how is it Narcissa, an avowed Harmonian hater, can write or edit the material on groups she's clearly biased against, but I cannot correct her? You'll note I didn't delete rather offensive comments about Harmonians, including the statement on the Harry/Hermione page implying that there are no H/Hr shippers who aren't insane. It's quite simple. I have accused fandom wank of bias and generally speaking, of becoming a nest of OBHWF shippers. They vehemently deny it. Well, then why is the Wiki so one sided? A wiki is supposed to be NEUTRAL and inform, not propagandize, like the one here. There's no neutrality here. Now, y'all may point to your --Vanceone 18:11, 11 May 2006 (BST)bias and other statements where you repudicate neutrality in favor of the funny (as you see it, cause I certainly don't find lots here funny, and not just HP stuff), but if so, then I would ask that you stop claiming this place is a wiki. Most people would expect a wiki to be rather neutral. None of my edits were factually inaccurate. Yes, they didn't further advance the notion that Harmony = insanity. Oh no, the world will end! Oh NOOO! He snuck in a snarky comment about OBHWF shippers! We can't have THAT! And a Harmonian showed up--let's ban him! Cause, heaven forbid they are allowed a point of view. Or correct blatantly biased statements against them. *looks at edit of article on me and sighs* And is it too much to expect any hint of fairness or equal treatment? Can't you even PRETEND to be evenhanded? Or is it all anti-harmonian, all the time? I can't even edit my own freaking summary on here without my edits being twisted to further attack me. ----Vanceone 16:23, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Vance, the purpose of this wiki is not to be neutral and inform. And I can't imagine anyone looking at the fandom wank wiki expects it to be neutral. -- Avocado 16:46, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Dude, we freely admit there's no neutrality here. Coming in with your attempts to "revise" your wankiness as if this were some sort of feud is pointless. The anti-Harmonian faction -- already banished to the Cornfield by us F_W mods -- set up residence because, well, you and your ilk provide so much fodder. You have a JF account. Post some OBHWF wank. Yeah, Narcissam is...a tetch biased. Most of us aren't. We'd fucking *love* to see wank from the other sections of HP. Frankly, you're the biggest minstrel show in town right now because you're the ones dressing up in the colorful rags and oversized clown shoes and prancing like crazy for all to see. If you can find better wank from other segments, feel free to post it. Until then, stop wanking and then claiming you were just reading HP "for the articles" and you won't get snarked at so much. Wankprophet
- Perhaps you don't get my complaint. You keep saying, "Bring the OBHWF wank." The problem is that F_W, as explained in the wiki here, now claims that my entire fandom is wanking just by existing. The fandom war is over whether Harry and Hermione had canon support--and Fandom Wank has clearly thrown it's towel in on one side of a shipping debate. Thus, when WE say, "I think so and so shows that Harry likes Hermione," it's wank by definition. Yet I can't even get people to mock Harry/Ginny shippers for their snake/pipe and rape allegorys, simply because they currently are "winning?" You are a mod at F_W--don't you ever feel uneasy that so many people of one side of a fandom debate frequent your site, while the other side continiously makes accusations of bias against you? Even the slytherin people don't have an organized opposing group or fandom, as far as I know. I hope you get WHY many Harmonians accuse F_W as a whole of bias, because I get the impression that this hasn't really happened much before. My problem is simple: My fandom group is defined as wanky for doing the same things our opponents do, while they are viewed as not wanky. We are treated as second class citizens. For example, Narcissa wrote the entry on me here at the wiki. Yet, when I added something snarky back to hers, it was promptly deleted as "biased." She writes, or contributes, to practically all the HP stuff here at the wiki. How is it her bias is acceptable, while mine is not? --Vanceone 18:11, 11 May 2006 (BST)

- I'd suggest checking out the Bias article. That may give you an idea about the neutral point of view, too. And FYI, I at least am not in HP fandom and have no particular bias re Harmonians. You might be also be interested to know that the creator of many of the HP articles - Jim Smith - is not only not in the HP fandom, but of all the books has only read one chapter of HBP. His mockery was based primarily on his knowledge acquired via FW, and thus perfectly suited for the FW wiki. Basically, realize this: nobody cares. You may think NarcissaM does, but really she doesn't. Except in the sense that you keep providing her with material; it's not personal. If you [plural you] got that, well, you'd probably be a lot less funny... --Mindset 18:28, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Oh, I forgot to add this earlier.
I hope you get WHY many Harmonians accuse F_W as a whole of bias, because I get the impression that this hasn't really happened much before.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh, mister. Join the freaking club! Get a clue and get over your damn self! Every person or group wanked claims F_W is biased, from the cosplayfucks to the furries to the childfree to GT to Crystal to my own sitch, the comicsfen (SWMNBW included). This isn't new, you are not a unique little persecuted snowflake. "Forget it, Jake. It's Fandom Wank." --Mindset 19:57, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Oh, I forgot to add this earlier.
- For example, Narcissa wrote the entry on me here at the wiki. Yet, when I added something snarky back to hers, it was promptly deleted as "biased."
- That was snarky? I wrote my entry to be snarky, providing links to a couple of examples of me wanking, particularly to when I was mad at Fandom Wank for daring to laugh at my Slytherfen friends. I've no problem putting your edit back in. Though it's a bit boring. Maybe I can spice it up a bit. --Narcissam 19:14, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- There. Narcissam Whaddya think? --Narcissam 19:21, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- "Opponents?" "Second class citizens?" ...The route out of mockery is neither retcon nor claiming persecution. See The Wiki is Serious Business. -- Avocado 19:37, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Uh, Vance. Since you are so firmly convinced that everyone here is a raving bigot deliberately distorting your every statement for our amusement.... why do you care what we think?
- Just askin'. Lurker 32
- Well, odds are we will distort his edits for our amusement. That's what we did with Heidi, after all. And is that so wrong? --Mindset 19:57, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Yeah, I'm sure you will distort my edits--if they were allowed to remain. After all, this entire topic is about whether I should be banned for showing up, isn't it? For "trolling," by, I guess, not furthering the meme that "Harmonians=insane." In any case, my questions were answered--the wiki has no pretense to being neutral, fair, or accurate, so I'll not waste my time further.--Vanceone 20:45, 11 May 2006 (BST)

- Yet I can't even get people to mock Harry/Ginny shippers for their snake/pipe and rape allegorys Wait wait wait, what's this about the rape allegories? Cause that sounds like it has potential for a whole lotta crazy on the H/G side. The snape/pipe thing also has me confused; back when I was on FAP a few years ago (in the golden age before OotP), it seemed more like a "hur hur hur, the 'snake' is going through her 'pipe'" thing. --NebbieQ 15:25, 11 May 2006 (EST)
- As for the rape/sex symbolism stuff who cares anymore? I tried to get the HP Cornfield people to wank it, but they dug until they found some excuse not to. In brief, the argument goes that JKR meant all this sexual symbolism of Ginny being mentally raped by Tom Riddle, Harry fighting through all the pipes into the holy womb and fighting there, while rescuing his true love Ginny... it's all rather disgusting. But since it's H/G symbolism, it couldn't possibly be wanky, cuz they DON'T mean it! This is practically a quote--"we can't wank it, cuz they don't really mean it, so aren't being wanky! It's a fanciful theory, so it doesn't count! But boy, those stupid harmonian circle imagery theories, can you believe that? Mockity mock!" It was after that little episode that we pretty much gave up on F_W or it's associated comms ever being evenhanded. --Vanceone 20:47, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Okay, since I don't keep up with the HP Cornfield (and you're too busy going "wah wah life is pain I'm going to my room to listen to Linkin Park" to provide links), I don't know how much of this is true and how much of it is you being blinded by your emo glasses; the answer probably lies somewhere in the middle. Besides, it wouldn't have fit into the Cornfield anyways; not because the theory isn't mind boggling crazy (it is), but because the Cornfield was started because people were sick and tired of seeing Harmonian shit pop up on FW main. Sure, other pairings are technically accepted, but to be honest? I don't think anyone cares. If anyone who's a part of the comm can clear that up, it would be grand.
- In other news: I just noticed that I typoed my first comment as snape/pipe. Man, that's one heck of a Freudian slip. -NebbieQ 21:00, 11 May 2006 (BST this time!)

- Unfortunately, the rape/sex symbolism thing was Angua9's April Fool's essay. This does not count as a valid reason for not wanking it in Vance's eyes. -- Avocado 21:01, 11 May 2006 (BST)
- Indeed--which is why I posted three other links to non-april fools day essays, posts, etc. to show that it was a common argument for them. --Vanceone 21:09, 11 May 2006 (BST)

Suggestion box/Community Portal
Question: Is there a suggestion box anywhere around here? I've got an idea for the dictionary (my hed is pasteded on, yay) but can't write it myself, though I'm sure others can *snicker*. - Jumpgate
- If you aren't sure how to write something, but an article already exists, you can add a note in the discussion page for that article. Or if it's a "frequent phrase" that isn't on the frequent phrase list, you can edit the list, and someone will add the article sooner or later. Or you could mention it here. :) --Mindset 19:47, 8 June 2006 (BST)
I click on the Community Portal page all the time, and there's never anything there. So I've decided to do up a little something, maybe it can serve as a suggestion box as well? And also there's stats. I might get around to pretty colors and formatting later. :) --Mindset 05:49, 10 July 2006 (BST)
Well, we're back!
For the uninformed, there was a problem with the wiki's webhost (Mr. Ned Richards, in case you saw his page and were confused). But thanks to the efforts of our gracious admin Hugsnkisses, the wiki has returned. Hooray!
(Just in time for my birthday, too, mwhahaha.) --Mindset talk 19:20, 12 June 2007 (BST)
Spam-bot Bans
Just did a mass-banning of about 40 usernames -- all 6-letter random keysmash which couldn't be found on Google, LJ, or JF -- which I suspect to be spambots. If I got a real person by mistake, or if your IP was caught in the crossfire... well, you probably can't see this note. But if you are real and you can see this (via another IP or via a friend), I do apologize, and if you let me know I'll free you up. :) --Mindset talk 19:20, 12 June 2007 (BST)
