davis_517 was one of Msscribe's earliest sockpuppets, created on Portkey during Msscribe's initial foray into Harry Potter fandom in late 2002/early 2003. davis_517 is most notable for being Msscribe's first attempt at creating a "confrontational" sockpuppet, a technique she would later master with fermatojam, killiganhashope, and pottersginny.
davis_517 (alleged real name: Julie Davis) initially flamed Msscribe. However, she was "turned" and soon became one of Msscribe's dedicated fans. davis_517 was also the first sockpuppet to be abandoned by Msscribe, rejected for use in favor of her fellow Portkey-era socks clarabella21 and sarahkjames. Unlike those two, davis_517 never opened accounts at LiveJournal or Fiction Alley. However, Msscribe didn't forget about the davis_517 account at Portkey; it was last accessed in the same ten-minute period as the last visits to Portkey of clarabella21 and sarahkjames on July 16th, 2003, during the period when Msscribe was attempting to cover her tracks.
Due to the early abandonment, there is not as much evidence available to prove that davis_517 is a Msscribe sock as there is with her contemporaries clarabella21 and sarahkjames. However, davis_517 does fit into the general pattern of Msscribe sockpuppetry of that era (fangirling Msscribe in virtually every post, not posting about anything other than Msscribe, taking an official position at the Msscribe Collected Works Website as smutty artist-in-residence), so it is assumed with great certainty that she was a Msscribe sockpuppet.
