Domlijah is the name for the ship of Dominic Monaghan and Elijah Wood, the actors who played Merry and Frodo in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Lord of the Rings 3: Die Darkman Die.
A 2003 study presented the theory that Monaghan and Wood are both real people and males, meaning the Domlijah ship is an example of RPS in LOTR fandom, guaranteeing fun for all ages. Domlijah rose to infamy when tinhats led by MsA became convinced that the ship is in fact real. In other words, Monaghan and Wood are indeed a gay couple, and all evidence to the contrary is part of a sweeping media conspiracy to maintain the illusion that both men are straight.
At the heart of this conspiracy theory is the premise that the Lord of the Rings franchise relies heavily on the demographic of girls and women who are attracted to Monaghan and Wood but only if they are heterosexual. However, the theory's very existence would seem to demonstrate a considerable demographic of girls and women who are more attracted to secret Hobbit buttsex, causing it to undermine itself.
The tinhat movement encountered a minor wank in February 2004 when a group from the website The Nancing Pony appeared on the MTV show TRL with signs prompting "DOM + ELIJAH 4-EVAH." This event spawned a schism between the actual believers of Domlijah, the tinhats, led by Ms.A, and those who were simply RPS fans. Ms Allegro was shown to be out of her mind, and her opposers used this wank as an excuse to attack her. Reputation ruined, Ms.A has retreated into the shadows of the fandom.
