Earth logic is, as the name implies, the logic used by 97% of the human inhabitants of the planet Earth (although it may be tempting to believe that the percentage is significantly less). The Internets, being extraterrestrial in origin, is no place for Earth logic.

Earth logic tends to take the most straightforward, rational approach to any situation. Earth logic is often quite touching in its naiveté.

You have recently fallen into a coma. Upon recovering, your immediate response is to . . .

a) Demand a thorough examination from appropriate medical personnel to determine what, if any, lasting effects your ailment might have had.

b) Accept visits from loved ones.

c) Engage in physical therapy if necessary.

d) Hook up a wireless connection to your hospital room, so that you can let all your fandom friends know you're okay.

Answers A, B, and C are all prime examples of Earth Logic and are to be avoided at all costs.

Applications of Earth Logic

You are apt to be mocked (or cursed) for your attempts to apply Earth logic to the Internets, as the indigenous lifeforms there have evolved beyond such primitive thought-processes.
