Fanfiction.net is a multi-fandom fanfic archive with author self-uploading and no quality standards. The site has its good points, but they rarely feature on Fandom Wank. Instead, one can read about its abuse team deleting stories that don't break the rules while leaving up ones that do, fic writers flaming each others' review boards, and badfic authors complaining of persecution in their Author's Notes. To top it off, any Fandom Wank thread is likely to include badfic recs from this site guaranteed to lower your IQ.
The nickname "Pit of Voles" was coined in 2002 by Mooncalf in her blog.[1] No doubt "Pit of Rabid Squeeing Fangirl Weasels" wouldn't have been nearly as succinct.
