Femslash, Patriarchy, and the Evils of Glossing

Wankas made several doomed attempts to summarize this wank-in-process, but failed each time.
Here we go again.
The Backstory
Gleaned through reading numerous circumlocutious posts:
- Glossing is an evil BNF in Buffy fandom
- She sucks up to people, pretending they're BFF and that they have OMG!! common fandom interests
- She gets what she wants out of her so-called BFF, then stabs them in the back via AIM and friendslocked whisper campaigns, conveniently leaving no evidence
- She continues to persecute these former BFFs years afterward through veiled snarky comments which look like nothing to outside observers
- No one believes the victims because they have smaller LJ friends lists and a tendency to rave hysterically and incomprehensibly
- The backstabbed are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore! Yeah.
- Also, JennyO pops up randomly with TL;DR rants about how there's no femslash due to the patriarchy and the oppression of m/m slashers.
Basically, find a single player, you'll probably find them all. And you'll find them often.
The Players
- Glossing - the devil.
- Kindkit - the devil's apprentice.
- JennyO - femslasher oppressed by The Patriarchy as represented by m/m slashers.
- Ros_Fod - Glossing's innocent victim #1, she of $700 and "comprador" fame.

Ros_Fod vs Glossing
In the beginning, Ros_Fod and Glossing were friends. In fact, they were good friends-- good enough friends that they went on a trip together to visit Kita, and Ros_Fod either lent or gave Glossing $700 toward a ticket for that trip. But, alas, Glossing apparently badmouthed Ros_Fod behind her back, and Ros_Fod was not happy. This $700 will be mentioned frequently in the future.
"Comprador," Hitherto Unknown Racial Insult
Starring: JennyO, Ros_Fod, Glossing
June 21, 2004: It begins with the discussion of slash as a fetish, and moves into pseudointellectual terms like "othering." JennyO delivers her usual schtick about how women are oppressing themselves by not bucking the patriarchy and writing femslash. Glossing changes her LJ userinfo to include a reference to "compradors," which, in one definition collaborate with their oppressors for their own gain. Turns out that the term, when popular, might have been specifically used to refer to Asian businessmen (though the dictionary makes no mention of that).
Ros_Fod is Asian.
Heavily veiled snide attack or oversensitivity? It will come up for years thereafter as proof of Glossing's racist attacks.

All Your Blue Popsicles Are Belong to Glossing
Starring: Kindkit, Glossing
December 22, 2004: Kindkit's got it in for Willa, an author in the Buffy fandom. She left an anonymous flame on Willa's journal a few months before; she owned up to it. Now she's back again, anonymously accusing Willa of plagiarizing Glossing.
Who owns all mentions of Blue Popsicles in fanfic forevermore.
You can bet that Kindkit's anonymity doesn't last long.
Lust Memes Are ZOMG Offensive
Starring: Glossing, JennyO, and Twinkledru
January 2, 2005: Really, it's the "Comprador" wank revisited, but without the possible racist attacks. Here, we learn that it's bad to use sexual terminology in LJ anonymemes if you love someone's mind. Also, stuff about "othering" and the patriarchy oppressing femslashers.
Three guesses as to who mentions the patriarchy oppressing femslashers, and the first two don't count.
No Virtual Cuddles in Fandom Space!
Starring: JennyO, SWMBO, Jane Davitt
January 5, 2005: JennyO expands on the horrors of lusty terms in fandom discourse, featuring terms like "othering", m/m slashers oppressing women everywhere, and incoherent rants on the awfulness of it all.
SWMBO and Jane Davitt take offense.

January 25, 2005: AnnaKovsky gives her opinion on Veronica Mars. JennyO lets her know that her opinion is wrong and she is helping the patriarchy... you know the rest.

March 3, 2005: Ignatius kicks off the Wank Report with the following:
- So over in the Buffy/Angel fandom, there are a bunch of people who really, really don’t like each other, and yet cannot seem to stop reading each other’s entries, and taking everything they find therein as personal attacks.
Sixth verse, same as the first... except this time, the tightly-knit fandom starts to come unglued... er, as discussion of JennyO's latest rant devolves into exposing the evils of Glossing.
After the wank, JennyO and Glossing rake Kita, SWMBO, and Jane Davitt across the coals for being mean and evil bitches. Or something.
Tools of the Patriarchy, Throw Off Your Shackles and Write Femslash for Me

November 25, 2005: Twinkledru asks why there isn't more femslash. Someone has a theory. It might just involve "othering" and tools of the patriarchy.
We're Mad As Hell
Starring: Glossing, Ros_Fod, SWMBO, Kita, Violetsmiles, AnnaKovsky, LadyCat, DanaWoods
March 22, 2006: Two triggers, one large and bewildering wank.
- Glossing recommends a story written by DanaWoods and leaves positive feedback for the story in DanaWoods' LJ. DanaWoods strikes back telling Glossing to get out of her journal.
- Glossing responds to a post about flaming with an example, which might be a reference to an actual flame left by Ros_Fod. Ros_Fod takes issue with being misquoted, and with Glossing's continued existence in general.
Cue resurgence of a fandom war at least two years old, with the anti-Glossing crowd trying to show that they're in the right, really, as they deliver ultimatums to anyone on their friends lists. Of course, they're not willing to show they're in the right by providing concrete examples, because that would be poor netiquette. However, anyone who fails to recognize the pure and true evil of Glossing is flamed unmercifully.
All for the good of fandom, of course.
