GAFF was the popular abbreviation for the snark website Godawful Fan Fiction and its associated forums. Unsurprisingly, given the website's topic, members were involved in many fanfic-related wanks. Less expected was GAFF wank on a wide variety of other topics, from incest to Islam to the childfree. A lot of this can be blamed on Hellfire.

After late 2005, GAFF ceased to be a popular source of wank due to the difficulty in getting onto the forums. Unlike ours, their server was not Robust. After Site Guru, the site manager, disappeared for months on end, the forums were overrun with trolls and splooge and were eventually closed in early 2006. They returned on 21 June 2007, but sadly were locked to non-registered users. How we miss the old days.

On 19 December 2008, it was announced that GAFF would be going offline forever in January 2009 due to Site Guru's lack of time and continued health issues. An attempt at a GAFF successor with non-moderated membership, House of Bad Fanfiction, opened a few days later [1]. Godawful.net went offline on 30 January 2009.
