Popular Japanese musician. His name is not pronounced like a cat horkin' up a hairball, but rather "Gah-ku-to".

Yes, they really did dress him up in that outfit and splice him into the hidden ending of Dirge of Cerberus. (If you really want to see this ending for yourself, just collect the three "G Reports" hidden in the game. Or search for the video on YouTube.) He also did a couple of songs for Dirge, which, surprisingly enough, aren't complete crap.

The character reappears in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, in which he pouts and throws things.

Most Gackt wank somehow involves his personal life, as many fans believe him to somehow be above humanity. Occasionally, wank occurs over his music or over something else unrelated to him or the music.

Gackt's own statements are often wanky in and of themselves, such as his claim to be an ancient vampire, his claims to psychic abilities, and his claims to predict his own death. If one really wants to delve into Gackt's particular batshit insanity, one can find almost all of these statements in his autobiography, Jihaku (Confession) though the wanka is advised that these statements may be a mere bid for attention or part of his public persona. Occasionally, wank will erupt over these comments.

Gackt's official fan club, Dears, is also often a source of wank. One must have a Japanese residence to join, so the occasional allegation of racism has been raised.

Elitism is often another source of Gackt wank, as fans who have been in the fandom since Malice Mizer, and newbie fans -- as well as Japanese and American fans -- can either be absolutely welcoming of each other or absolutely enraged at each other's presence. This seems more common in the Hyde and Dir en Grey fandoms, though.

Finally, Gackt's ambiguous sexuality and gender can be another cause for wank. This usually results when RPS shippers argue over whether he is best with Hyde or You, for example, or when an extremely feminine Gackt image is posted to a forum consisting of homophobes and someone says "I'd hit that," then realizes he has just gotten a hard-on over a man. On the other hand, as shown a recent wank, the potential of Gackt having straight sex can be just as wanky.
