Navigating the treacherous waters of Harry Potter fandom is hard enough, but a mere few moments in a Harmonian wank will show the uninitiated wanka that Harry Potter fandom has its own special vocabulary.
Intended as a guide for the uninitiated, here are the semi-common names for pairings. Most names are either composed of smooshing names together, taken from a popular fanfic featuring the pairing, or based on the original thread name on Fiction Alley Park.
Usually, only pairings with Severus Snape use smooshed-together names, and whether first or last names are used in the smooshing varies. No one knows why.
When writing initials, Hermione's first name is usually abbreviated as "Hr" to avoid confusion. Even though the third letter in Harry is also 'R.'
Semi-Common Names Mentioned on Fandom Wank

- Harry/Hermione: Pumpkin Pie or Harmony
- Harry/Ginny: Orange Crush. Followers are sometimes called Chocolateers, but generally only by lunatics. (Un)Fortunately mctabby's suggestion of Hinny never caught on.
- Ron/Hermione: The Good Ship. Followers are sometimes called Herons, but only in an insulting fashion.
- Draco/Hermione: Leather and Libraries,
DramamineDramione - Draco/Ginny: Fire and Ice. Almost never really mentioned on FW, except maybe in the sense that Ginny is a whore, but some n00b thought it was important enough to be here, so here it is.
- Snape/Hermione: almost never abbreviated. No one knows why. (It should actually be called Severus/Hermione, but those extra syllables trip them up every time.) Though occasionally Snarry fans will refer to it as Snermione, which serves as evidence for the smushing of names to be a mental disease. For a non-canon pairing it has an absurdly huge (and wanky) mailing list.
- Remus/Tonks: Wotcher Wolvie. General consensus is this is the dumbest fucking shipping name in the history of every fandom. However, the crossover potential with the X-Men should not be overlooked.
- Neville/Luna: The Government Stole My Toad. Not even a semi-common ship, but every time ship names come up on FW someone has to say how much they love this.

- Remus Lupin/Sirius Black: Puppyshippers. Or, if you're persistent enough about this wiki thing and also hate puppies, Wolfstar.
- Harry/Draco: Guns and Handcuffs.
Kinky. - Harry/Ron: The HMS Candy or simply Candyshipping.

- Snape/Lupin: Snupin. Sounds like a past-tense form for "snooping," doesn't it?

It's magically delicious! - Snape/Lucius Malfoy: Snucius. Just rolls trippingly off the tongue, doesn't it? Why people use this one, yet not "Snockhart"? No idea.
