Ron/Hermione

(Redirected from Heron)

Ron/Hermione is a name for the Harry Potter fandom pairing of Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Throughout the Harry Potter novels Ron and Hermione were known to bicker at one another endlessly. Then, in a plot twist that might have shocked some prokaryotic life forms, this animosity turned out to be a pretext for their mutual romantic attraction. The ship is also known as R/Hr, The Good Ship, and part of OBHWF.

Another ship name, Heron (from HERmione / RON), was apparently coined on the Mugglenet forums. "Heron" is often employed as a term of derision by Harmonians, although why calling someone a "heron" would be derisive is anyone's guess. Maybe a heron raped their cat. Possibly it's because the Bible calls herons unclean birds. Okay!

R/Hr shippers are the mortal enemies of H/Hr shippers, having spent approximately 27 years debating whether Galactus could eat the Death Star. Wait, that's not right. Oh yeah--they debated who Hermione should go out with. Since the canon and JK Rowling recently supported R/Hr over H/Hr, Ron/Hermione shippers can be identified by their sense of superiority for having correctly deduced one of the least challenging mysteries in English literature.
