Interrogating the text from the wrong perspective

The Wank
September 20, 2004: Anne Rice showed up on Amazon.com to tell negative reviewers of her book, Blood Canticle, "You are interrogating this text from the wrong perspective." This became a catchphrase on Fandom Wank for all those times when a wanker basically accuses someone else of... well... interrogating things from the wrong perspective.
As well, Rice used the opportunity to explain she didn't need an editor and offered to refund fans for Blood Canticle, if they sent their copies to her address. Unfortunately, when fans tried to do so, they came back marked 'Returned to Sender'.
Anne Rice's venture into the Amazon review section went on to win widespread non-fandom attention when it was featured in several traditional print newspapers.
The full rant at the reviewers is included in the Wank Report.
