Inuyasha is a popular anime/manga series about a demon (InuYasha) and his human girlfriend (Kagome), who are on a quest to track down the missing pieces of something called the "Jewel of the Four Souls". This is complicated by the fact that they have a mortal enemy (Naraku) who is also after the jewel, and that InuYasha's girlfriend is the reincarnation of his ex (Kikyo), who has since come back to life and is pursuing him romantically. Other characters include Miroku, a lecherous monk with a black hole in his hand, his girlfriend Sango (a demon exterminator) and her brother Kohaku; Koga (another demon) and Sesshoumaru (InuYasha's half brother, who looks like a girl, even more than most bishounen).
Confused yet? Well, when the fangirls have all this to keep track of, how can you expect them to be able to keep their minds on something as mundane as, oh, I don't know, common sense?
Wank about this series generally comes from the usual sources of subs versus dubs, shipping wars and arguments over things like the portrayal of the youkai (mythical demonic creatures from Japanese legend.) Add InuGrrrl, Cowgirled, the Super Uke Syndrome and BNFs like Sueric into the mix, and there's potential for wank aplenty.
