November 6, 2007: After Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was published, Rowling announced that she had created seven handwritten copies of The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Six of them were given as gifts and the seventh would be auctioned off for charity.
Everyone thought it was touching that JKR would put in the effort to make seven handmade books for her friends and for charity.
