JKR vs. The U.S. Army
From Fandom wank wiki
February 7, 2005: The United States Army has a comic book magazine, Preventive Maintenance Monthly, which promotes proper equipment maintenance for troops. In May 2004, the magazine printed a story featuring parody Harry Potter characters. Nine months later, the news site HPANA uploaded a scanned copy, at which point JK Rowling's lawyers found out. The news site The Leaky Cauldron then posted that the lawyers are looking into the issue to see if it respects copyright.
Naturally, the commentbox became a raging flamewar between the anti-war types and the What do you know of freedom? brigade.

Quotes
- "If my favourite books are used in a comic to cheer up the soldiers in Iraq, then yes, I do have a problem with that. If Jo or her lawyers are doing something to prevent this, I´m al for it." - Anonymous quoted in the Wank Report
- "First there are a stupid kids reading this site how know nothing about war and death and what it is not to be free. For 40 million people that’s what they now have because of USA, the UK, and other nations. In addition, I think that this falls under the Fair Use Rule of the United States Copyright Act of 1976. To say nothing of the fact that you can't sue the government unless it give you permission first. JKR would be wise not to get political otherwise people will stop reading her books because of her views and that would be to bad." - Another Anonymous quoted in the Wank Report
