Macro
From Fandom wank wiki
A picture that contains captioned text. Often combines the lolariousness of intentionally misspelled internet memage with the calm tranquility of cats and/or retina scarring porn. Whether the result is actually funny tends to vary since macros can, of course, be serious business.
So, you ask, why are they called "macros"? Do they have to be big? No, not always, though they usually are. It's yet another example of geeky computer usage becoming slang, from when a pre-programmed sequence of keys would result in a flood of ASCII art (on IRC or Usenet) and then eventually images (on messageboards like Something Awful).
Note! Responding to wanks with macros is highly discouraged on the main Fandom Wank Communities like F_W or OTF Wank. If you must, keep it to your journal, Fandom Lounge, stupid_free, or if it involves cats, Feline Lounge.
