Really should not be confused with the MPEG media compression format.

The legendary mpreg MPEG rumored to exist in the darkest recesses of several fandoms has yet to be discovered, but the oracles tell us that someday a fan-virgin of the purest heart and worst sex education will ride her blue-eyed unicorn in quest of it. She'll fail miserably and finish out her days writing bitter screeds on her uterus, but let's not dwell on the negatives.

So Wait, How Does the Baby...you know...?

Damn good question. Several options present themselves.

  • It comes out of the father's special anus. Although this is relatively the simplest solution, it would surely spoil the cuddly slashy mood for the loving gay couple to have an ass baby.
  • The father passes it like a six-pound kidney stone. The problem here, obvious to men everywhere, is probably trivial to your typical mpreg writer, so that might work.
  • It bursts out of the father's body. Hey, it worked in Alien. Then again, it'd be pretty hard for Sam and Dean to immediately resume hawt secks when one of them has a gaping hole in his abdomen.
  • It springs fully grown from the father's forehead. OK, a little derivative, but instead of dealing with the crotchdropping you can get right down to establishing your new OT3...
  • Body modification. The installation of a uterus and birth canal would certainly simplify things, but now you're treading dangerously close to a fic about a man getting an (ick) woman pregnant. Better move on...
  • Ennh, just leave it in there. Once you've written your ship's emotional money shot and done a few "As a dude I am very disturbed that I'm pregnant" jokes, who cares about resolution? Just wrap it up and move on to knocking up the next poor sap.
