Munchausen by Proxy Server: n.
A non-infectious disease with a high fatality rate. Believed to be caused by a deficiency in Intarwebs Popularity combined with a genetic predisposition towards Drama Whoring. Symptoms vary but occasionally mimic those of known diseases, particularly ones the popular imagination finds frightening, such as AIDS or various cancers. Diagnosis is difficult, but distinguishing traits are as follows:
- if the sufferer's symptoms are never bad enough to prevent her (MbPS is rare in males) posting about them on Livejournal.
- if those near the sufferer, such as parents, siblings, friends, and doctors, spontaneously begin to manifest aspects of the sufferer's personality - eg: idiosyncratic spelling and grammar errors or a desire to update Livejournal during emergencies.
- if the sufferer spontaneously 'gets better' a few days after her death (note: does not apply if sufferer is Jesus).
