NSFW stands for Not Safe For Work. Sometimes written as NWS (Not Work Safe.) This is used to label content that you might not want to look at while in a public area, just in case your boss, teacher or whoever else suddenly appears at your shoulder. There's also NBS (Not Brain Safe) and NSS (Not Sanity Safe), which warn you not to click if you value your mental health. An NSFW tag sometimes just means that the material in question is a bit violent in nature, or is sexist/racist/homophobic, but generally if it's NSFW you can guarantee that porn lies beneath. Happy days!

Fandom Wank has had a No NSFW Icons rule since 2003, although it wasn't fully enforced until 2005. OTF Wank and Clairvoyantwank are under the same rules as Fandom Wank, so the NSFW icons are also forbidden in those communities. Be warned that Fandom Lounge, I Wank and most of the other Fandom Wank Communities have carte blanche to be as NSFW as they like.
