"PI Mouse", or "The Great Mouse Detective", were the nicknames given to an anonymouse who claimed to have found information vindicating some of Msscribe's claims. S/he first posted on Heidi's LJ [1], then later on various Journalfens and on the Bad Penny community. S/he claimed s/he'd done some detective work and discovered that, while MsScribe had made up some things, there was a real Clarabella, a real Louis Movello (only his name was something else), and records of Msscribe being stalked and going to the hospital existed.

"I am going to say this now. I broke some major fannish ethics while gathering this information, and if it were discovered I could very well lose my job. Please know, however, that I have seen the horrors of people abusing their power and I only pulled information relevant to these exposes." - PI Mouse

That paragraph worried people, and they were even more worried when PI Mouse appeared to post Msscribe's very personal information in the comments of Charlotte Lennox's response to this development. Bad Penny screened the information and turned off anonymous commenting. What sort of fan would be so obsessive as to illegally track down someone's private information?

The mystery was solved when Charlotte Lennox posted again and proved PI Mouse's very private information was bollocks end to finish. Charlotte, who'd previously thought PI Mouse was an independent commenter, agreed at last with the suspicions of many Journalfen members.

"Why do I think that the Detective Mouse is Msscribe, besides the obvious reason of motive? The writing style is a bit different (though the second post sounds more like her than the first one), but the methods are the same. The argument is superficially convincing, but on close examination it is full of inconsistencies and inaccuracies. Msscribe is inventive and eloquent, but not patient and meticulous. And then there's the biggest similarity: the blatant, ridiculous, bald-faced, unblushing lies. I find it hard to believe that there is another person out there who is willing to go to such lengths and cobble together such a collection of real and imaginary details just to bolster parts of Msscribe's story."
