Per this post in Fandom Lounge, the word "Potterdämmerung" was likely coined by dragonscholar/Xwayfarer, but possibly popularized by waltraute. (And then definitely even more popularized by Cleolinda.) The term is based, of course, on the apocalyptic conclusion of events in Wagner's Götterdämmerung.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Boring Wank Reports
The wank actually started pre-release when the carpet book appeared on the Internet. Unfortunately, much to the frustration of Fandom Wank, most of the wank created by the actual book release occurred in locked communities.
However, all was not lost. Within a few months, Dumbledore was outed, The HP Lexicon was sued, and JKR became an elitist bitch.
And there was much rejoicing.
