Sarahkjames was a sockpuppet used by Msscribe for the purposes of astroturfing support amongst the lesser-known fen of the Harry Potter fandom, particularly those that hung out at Portkey back in 2002.

sarahkjames was initially one of Msscribe's fangirls, following the standard pattern of Msscribe socks in posting nothing other than praise for Msscribe and becoming one of the maintainers of Msscribe's fic archive. Like clarabella21, sarahkjames opened up accounts at LiveJournal and Fiction Alley to spread the praises of Msscribe.

sarahkjames was used by Msscribe in a first attempt to "expose" pottersginny. When this didn't gain the right amount of attention, pottersginny went public and started to troll various journals. sarahkjames was then used to increase the wank surrounding pottersginny by joining Gryffindor Tower to protest pottersginny's banning. Unfortunately for Msscribe, this left IP numbers for sarahkjames that could be matched to posts by other Msscribe socks.

sarahkjames' final use was to set up clarabella21 to take the fall for Msscribe by having clarabella21 claim that she used sarahkjames' account to post from Msscribe's computer, thus explaining some of the matching IP addresses. After that, both sarahkjames and clarabella21 were abandoned by Msscribe.
