Smallville is a television show on the WB about the adolescence of Clark Kent before he becomes Superman. In all other forms of Superman fandom, Clark is a barrel-chested, square-jawed tough guy in a circus costume who can't relax because Lex Luthor is always trying to kill him with giant robots. In Smallville, Clark looks like a sensitive, pouty version of Ashton Kutcher and Lex is a woobie who's just misunderstood, so its cult status among fangirls is natural.

The small farm town of Smallville, Kansas, is filled with gorgeous people, so the fandom is rife with shipping wars over who Clark should be shtupping. It's always fun to mess with the shippers by telling them that it doesn't matter because he's going to marry Lois Lane anyway.
