The Story So Far
Separate wankstreams began on the slash and het sides of Harry Potter Snape fandom, coming together and culminating in the spectacular meltdown which was the Hogwarts Online RPG. These wanks predate Fandom Wank, but their glory must not be allowed to be lost to the sands of time.
On the slash side of Snape fandom, the formation of the Snape Slash Fleet led to a later pitched naval battle against the newly formed cruise ship Snape/Harry on Fiction Alley Park.
On the het side of Snape fandom, the conflagration resulting from Riley's Pawn to Queen led to the departure of some of the members of Snape/Hermione fandom, who promptly joined slash fandom.
And then, in May 2002, someone proposed that a Hogwarts-based LiveJournal RPG might be fun... some of the main players from the two previous wanks decided to organize it, with predictable results.
Vague memories of this storied wankfest are why great things are expected of Snape fandom when JKR publishes the final volume of the Harry Potter series.
Will it live up to the billing? Only time will tell.
The Story Begins Anew
In December 2005, Snape fandom appeared on Fandom Wank when the Snarry archive, Detention, was deleted. In October 2006, the discovery of Snape's astral wives hit JournalFen's comment cap. It probably had something to do with the salami.

A new kerfuffle reared its head in March of 2008, when a comment on a post on hp_essays attracted the wrath of Snape fan (and astral wife candidate) blackpearl777.
