Emacs and Vi aren't operating systems. Fixed. (Though God knows Emacs does just about everything else, including Eliza and the Tower of Hanoi). Ah... Emacs. I miss Emacs. -- Avocado 02:38, 30 November 2005 (GMT)
- Yeah, I know that. Am incredibly tired and don't know what I'm talking about. And Emacs practically is the GNU opperating system...well, that, bash, GCC, and Hurd. --Thephotoman
- The one thing I learned how to do in vi was quit without saving. Much less embarrassing than my prior method of Ctrl-Z followed by jobs, and kill -9. Please do make Emacs and Vi at least vaguely amusing. I've failed miserably. -- Avocado 03:22, 30 November 2005 (GMT)
- I'm trying, believe me. But you forgot about some of the more arcane features of Emacs, such as Tetris. Thephotoman
- And pong? I wrote most papers using emacs to set things up in LaTeX format. Wow, that was a long time ago. -- Avocado 04:35, 30 November 2005 (GMT)
- Yeah. Pong, too. As said in its article, it's a complete operating system, once you throw in bash, gcc, and Hurd. --Thephotoman 05:04, 30 November 2005 (GMT)

Darnit, guys, if you're going to bring up ancient legendary flamewars, then we should at least put in Spiderman vs. Storm, because then I could link Spiderman vs. Jesus, and that's still one of the funniest mock flamewars I've ever read. But you know why I won't? Because it's 10 years old and took place long before FW existed. Let's stick to some kind of vague context, ok? --Mindset 08:31, 30 November 2005 (GMT)
- The danger of techies, I think. I'm thrilled to can the whole thing and redirect the Emacs & Vi pages to "flamewar." It wasn't possible to make it funny and brief enough to pass in modern context. The only thing I'm particularly interested in having that predates FW is the Snape fandom wars (because they're HP stuff that's at least not related to Harmony, thank God).-- Avocado 08:52, 30 November 2005 (GMT)
- And, done. -- Avocado 08:56, 30 November 2005 (GMT)
