An allegedly real and allegedly funny incident Msscribe posted to her LiveJournal in February 2003. Attention garnered by this story helped to start Msscribe's meteoric rise to BNF-ness at Fiction Alley. Throughout her many controversial incidents, Msscribe has occasionally locked or renamed her journal, but would often leave this entry public--it's just that high-larious.
According to Msscribe, she was asked to arrange a meeting at her daughter's daycare center, because another mother had discovered her 17-month-old daughter kissing Msscribe's 18-month-old daughter on the mouth. This other woman, from a deeply religious family, is concerned at her daughter's trend of kissing girls and wonders if she's gay. Astounded, Msscribe makes light of this, causing the representative from the daycare center to bust a gut laughing (because this is apparently the funniest thing ever) and the other mother to declare that Msscribe is going to hell. The other mother storms off and leaves, and for some reason Msscribe must follow her into the parking lot and watch her drive away because she comments on the woman's religious-themed bumper sticker.
As CharlotteLennox observes in The Ms. Scribe Story, the nutty Christian woman in the story is too good a straight man (no pun intended) for this to have really happened. Also...it's Msscribe. I mean, come on.
Msscribe concluded the post by pointing out the inherent contradiction in the term "luxury budget motel" and the ubiquity of Dale Earnhardt window decals. Sadly, she did not conclude by asking why we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway.
