If that doesn't help you, how about this handy-dandy FAQ?
Or maybe these should be "Frequently Raised Objections." Either way.
"Wiki" should mean this is a serious encyclopedia!
"Wiki" indicates collaborative website software. Wikipedia ought to know.[1] In this case, this website is the collaborative effort of some fandom_wank members, a few helpful non-members, some trolls, and incredibly persistent spambots.
Why doesn't the wiki strive for a neutral point of view?
You want a neutral fandom wiki? Good luck. What's notable? What isn't? Is your fandom important or not? Is your fanfiction important or not? Does it matter that you volunteer at an animal shelter in your spare time, or only that you leap into the fray to flame others over spelling at the drop of a hat?
If it made us laugh or shaped our community, it's here. If it didn't, it doesn't merit inclusion.

It looks like an encyclopedia! Everyone will take it seriously!
You've never heard of EncyclopediaDramatica, I take it. Please also see the articles on Harry Potter, JK Rowling, Doctor Who, and God. They represent great and exacting research, don't they? Totally appropriate for citation in a serious news article!
Anyone who takes the wiki seriously, seriously hasn't looked at it.
But some of the information in the wiki is completely accurate.
From a certain point of view. It's mockery, which is largely opinion. Some opinions are based on facts. Some facts may result from opinions.
The wiki is usually very accurate in the summaries of who said what to whom where. But whether it's complete is something else altogether, and really, not our problem.
I've been misquoted!
That we do care about. It's why quotations are sourced, and why we don't edit them for grammar or spelling. See the epic history of Nothing is like the Nazis.[2][3]
We prefer to mock you for the things you actually said. Whether that's what you really meant to say is another question entirely.
If you're misquoted, it will be fixed. If there's a link to you saying it, you're out of luck. If there isn't a link yet, one will be found. And no, deletion rarely helps.
Hey, why'd you delete my article on SailorN00b5694?! She's so wanky, she needs to be here lolololol
One thing the wiki does have in common with Wikipedia is that we don't do original research. While we'll accept outside links that provide more data or show a trend, the backbone of these articles are the Fandom Wank Communities.
Take your grudgewanking to Wank Report, and your enemy that person you just happened to hear about may make it to the wiki... eventually.
Or you can try your luck with EncyclopediaDramatica, god help you.
I didn't like what the wiki said, so I made an account and deleted the content. You restored it and banned me. You bastards.
Try Deletion requests next time, or explain on the talk page why specific content poses a problem for you. Otherwise, you look like a troll or spambot. Polite requests get a polite response -- and yes, we've fixed things before.
And remember, this is a wiki. Your trollery can be reverted with far less effort than you put into it. Plus, the record of your failed attempt is automatically preserved. As a lesson to future generations, perhaps.
Self-slandering pity parties[4][5][6] won't stick either. Sorry we can't encourage your martyrdom.
Fandom_wank blew up a minor disagreement, and now it's on the wiki forever.
It turns out that when you say stuff in public, people overhear it. You post stuff publicly on the web, people see it. From that point on, you can't control it.
Something worth considering.
All sorts of people I don't even know will see your article about me and draw the wrong conclusions.
- People draw the wrong conclusions all the time. See, watch: I wouldn't watch "Brokeback Mountain" if you paid me. ... Now, did you correctly conclude I hate cowboy movies? ... Now that I've said that, do you harbor a suspicion that I'm lying or secretly have some other agenda? Welcome to life.
- No one actually reads the Fandom_Wank Wiki-- not even fandom_wank members. We know this is true by how frequently otherwise intelligent people try to feature Stormfreak on one of the Fandom_Wank Communities. Even fandom_wank itself is not notable. :( Wikipedia has told us so on more than one occasion.
If you ignore fandom_wank, you probably won't make it into the wiki. If you ignore the wiki, wankas will lose interest in the article. If you link to a wiki article and gripe about it, then you've GoogleTM-bombed yourself. Congratulations.

"Here you graze -- witless bottom-feeders in the creativity ecosystem." Get a life.
Thanks so much! We love you, too.
But what is the purpose of the wiki?
Parody, satire, and generalized mockery. Was that unclear?
