The Sentinel is one of those special fandoms that managed to flourish with few, if any, of the fans watching the show at all. This is probably all for the best.
The show's plot revolved around a gay couple, Jim and Blair, who had gay sex. There may have been something about super senses and Peru and solving crime and they're not gay in there, somewhere, but no one really cares.
The fandom itself is obsessed with smarm, which does not mean what you think it means.

- Garettverse wank - Like some sort of postmodern crap, the biggest and most recent wank had nothing to do with the show itself, much like the fandom as a whole. You have to applaud the consistency.
