History
The meme developed after a Smallville plagiarism wank, which occurred while FW was on Livejournal. During the wank, Smallville BNF Sarah T made the comment “Why am I so very not surprised [the plagiarist is] a Harry Potter writer?” Unsurprisingly, this touched off a minor wankstorm of its very own. The wank remained a touchy subject in Harry Potter fandom for some time. Notably, more than a year later, Sarah T was still trying to clarify and defend her comments. [7]
