Backstory

Once upon a time, not long ago, in a galaxy not far enough away... there were Stacey, Aja, Ivyblossom, and Libertine. And they were all good friends with (and minions of) Cassie Claire. The Inner Circle-- it seemed like such a happy place.

But did they like each other?

Apparently not so much.

Based on the claims of the people involved; veracity is not guaranteed:

• After discontinuing her association with Fiction Alley, Stacey apparently said that Cassie and Heidi got other people to do their dirty work to keep their squeaky clean fandom reputations.[1] (And, possibly, other things so awful no one will quite say what they were.)
• Stacey has also been accused of verbal abuse, stalking, and harrassment of Aja.
• Aja suggested that Cassie and Heidi forced her to put up with Stacey's abuse to keep things running smoothly.
• Aja might have been jealous of Ivyblossom's status as Cassie's favorite, leading to the writing of The Very Secret Diary Of Aja.
• Ivyblossom might have interpreted that diary as a serious death threat, and refused to attend Nimbus, leading to an appearance on Fandom_Wank...

Time passes. Nimbus occurs. Does anyone get along any better? Apparently not.

The Wank - Part 1: Aja

October 11, 2003: A few months later, Libertine apparently locked Aja's college (yes, the entire school) out of Veela, Inc. Aja assumed Ivyblossom was responsible, and responded with a wanky post in her LiveJournal, which incidentally mentioned several of the disagreements listed above. Then Aja posted said wank on Fandom_Wank, but deleted it. And edited her original wanky post, apologizing. (Sadly, Aja's apology post is now locked.)

Of course, TheExhibitionist got hold of that wanky post and shared it with the world...[2]

October 12, 2003: And there was a new Wank Report.

The Wank - Part 2: Stacey

October 13, 2003: Stacey got into the act, too. Not that Stacey cared at all about fandom, or what Aja said. Of course not. Besides, unlike Aja, Stacey was clearly entirely rational-- which she proved when she said the reason she couldn't stand Aja was because Aja had friended most of the same people that were on Stacey's friends list. (Stacey's post is now locked.)

The Wank - Part 3: Aja, Heidi, and Cassie

October 13, 2003: So, Aja posted again, to tell the whole story of her interaction with Stacey-- and incidentally say Cassie and Heidi had forbidden Aja to respond to Stacey's verbal abuse and stalking. She also mentioned that she had been forced to be Cassie's secret friend in order to keep Stacey from going ballistic. According to Aja, when Stacey hacked into Cassie's email account and discovered Cassie and Aja were exchanging email, Stacey resigned from Fiction Alley. (Aja's post is now locked.)

Heidi[3] and Cassie[4] posted responses to that post. They were not happy to have their names dragged into the disagreement, nor were they happy to have Fiction Alley dragged into it...

Heidi came over to JournalFen to comment in the wank.

There was also a poll on whether Aja should leave fandom.[5] It was first mentioned in one of the previous wank reports, but made its biggest appearance here. Turns out that Heidi voted "yea," though she swore up and down it was all a big mistake caused by browsing on her Sidekick (because the only person she would have voted out of fandom was the person who stalked Cassie)... this led to a miniwank between Heidi and Altricial in the wank comments.[6]

The Wank - Part 4: Libertine

October 14, 2003: Libertine extends an "olive branch" to Aja, promising to let her back on to Veela, Inc... under certain conditions. In the process, she wins as "wankiest of them all."

Sadly, the Harry Potter BNFs wrestling to the death in treacle armed with hardback copies of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix did not come to pass.
